Microneedling Amsterdam: Medical Dermapen Behandeling

Microneedling is an advanced medical skin rejuvenation treatment in which controlled micro-channels are created in the skin using a professional Dermapen to activate the natural healing process. This technique is also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT).

What exactly happens when we preform Microneedling?
When the Dermapen creates microscopic channels in the skin, the body initiates three biological phases:
Inflammation phase – activation of the natural healing response
Proliferation phase – stimulation of fibroblasts and production of type III collagen
Remodeling phase – conversion into stronger type I collagen and thickening of the dermis
Fibroblasts play a key role in this process. These cells are responsible for producing collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, essential building blocks for firm, smooth skin.
The result is improved skin density, refined pore structure, and a reduction in scars and fine lines.
When do you see a result after microneedling?
The timeline:
Day 1–3: redness and mild swelling
Day 5–7: first glow becomes visible
Week 2–3: skin feels firmer
Week 4–6: collagen production becomes visible
For acne scars, multiple treatments are needed.
On average, we recommend 3 to 5 sessions.

Is microneedling safe?
Yes, microneedling is a safe treatment when performed professionally and in a medically responsible way.
At Lana Skyn in Amsterdam, we work with a medical-grade Dermapen, sterile single-use cartridges, and carefully adjusted needle depths for each skin zone.
Safety and skin analysis are always our priority. Microneedling stimulates the skin’s natural regeneration process without causing permanent damage—provided that contraindications are properly assessed beforehand. When is microneedling not suitable? Although microneedling is safe for many skin types, there are situations where the treatment is postponed or not recommended. Active inflammation or active acne Microneedling is not performed on active inflammatory acne (red, painful pimples). The skin must first be calmed to prevent the spread of bacteria and worsening of inflammation. For acne scars, microneedling can be very effective—but only when there is no active inflammation present. Rosacea or extremely sensitive skin With active rosacea or highly reactive skin, a careful assessment is required to determine whether the treatment is safe. In some cases, a gentler approach or alternative treatment is recommended. Pregnancy During pregnancy, intensive skin treatments are often postponed as a precaution. Although microneedling itself does not involve harmful substances, we choose maximum caution. Use of isotretinoin (Roaccutane) If isotretinoin has been used recently, microneedling should be postponed. This medication affects skin structure and wound healing. We generally recommend waiting at least 6 months after completing the course. Use of blood thinners Clients using blood thinners may have an increased risk of bruising or delayed healing. In such cases, treatment suitability is always assessed individually. How do we ensure maximum safety? Before every treatment, we perform a comprehensive skin analysis and medical intake, including: • Skin condition • Medication use • Medical history • Skin sensitivity • Any contraindications In addition: • Sterile, single-use cartridges are always used • Needle depth is precisely adjusted per treatment zone • Personalized aftercare advice is provided • The skin barrier is actively supported during recovery Professionally performed microneedling is a controlled and safe form of skin regeneration. Summary Microneedling is safe for most skin types, provided that: • There are no active inflammations • Contraindications have been ruled out • The treatment is performed professionally Not sure if microneedling is suitable for your skin? During a personal consultation at our clinic in Amsterdam, we assess this carefully.

Microneedling with Rejuran (salmon DNA)
For intensive skin regeneration, microneedling at Lana Skyn in Amsterdam can be combined with Rejuran, an advanced polynucleotide treatment based on purified salmon DNA.
Rejuran, also known as a salmon DNA treatment, supports the skin’s natural repair process at a cellular level. The polynucleotides stimulate fibroblasts, improve skin structure, and strengthen the skin barrier.
This combination is often chosen by clients looking for: Treatment of acne scars Improvement of fine lines Skin firming Repair of damaged skin structure Intensive hydration Microneedling creates controlled microchannels in the skin, allowing the Rejuran solution to penetrate deeper and enhance its regenerative effects. What is a polynucleotide treatment? A polynucleotide treatment in Amsterdam is a regenerative therapy in which DNA fragments (derived from purified salmon DNA) help the skin repair itself. The goal is not immediate volume, but long-term skin improvement through: Stimulation of collagen types I and III Improved elasticity Reduction of inflammatory processes Support of skin recovery after acne
Rejuran treatment Amsterdam: The Rejuran treatment in Amsterdam at Lana Skyn is often integrated into our SKYNFORMULA protocol for maximum skin rejuvenation.
During a personal consultation, we assess whether: Microneedling alone is sufficient or Microneedling combined with Rejuran is optimal.

Microneedling with exosomes as a more intensive treatment
Microneedling with exosomes is a more advanced form of skin rejuvenation. In this treatment, medical microneedling is combined with exosomes that support skin regeneration and cell communication.
This approach can be especially beneficial for acne scars, skin aging, and skin that requires more intensive repair.
